CommonSpirit Health, the new Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health aligned ministry, has officially launched. Now, at last, the bold and ambitious journey to create the health system of the future begins.
CHI and Dignity Health have, for many years, delivered compassionate care and healing to communities across the country. Founded by women religious, both ministries have a proud legacy of serving all people in need, especially those who've been made vulnerable by poverty, age, or other circumstances. But today, our communities face greater health challenges than ever before. Meeting those challenges—by creating real change in our society—will require more resources, talent, expertise, investment, and influence than ever before. These resources will be found in our remarkable new ministry - CommonSpirit Health.
CommonSpirit Health is one of the nation's largest health systems with more than 150,000 employees and volunteers, hundreds of hospitals and care centers across 21 states, thousands of physicians, millions of patients treated annually, and billions of dollars in charity care and community benefits. Building on the legacy that our founding women religious entrusted to us, CommonSpirit Health will boldly innovate, faithfully serve, and advocate for those who are vulnerable to be better able to:
- Build healthier communities wherever we are
- Transform health care access and delivery
- Personalize care for those with acute and chronic conditions
- Create an inspired culture of excellence for our employees and physicians
- Advance our sacred calling to serve all
CommonSpirit Health has the resources, expertise, and industry influence to change our country’s health care landscape for the better, and we are excited and inspired by the promise of this new ministry. Learn more here or by visiting CommonSpirit.org.
